Training and consultancy in North Norfolk and beyond
Professional training and consultancy for schools, services and practitioners supporting children and young people.
Thoughtful, trauma-informed training for those who support others
Alongside my therapy practice, I offer training and consultancy for professionals working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural needs in education and related settings.
This work is designed to support a deeper understanding of children and young people’s developmental and emotional needs, particularly where trauma, attachment difficulties, distress or dysregulation may be shaping behaviour and relationships.
My aim is to offer training that is thoughtful, accessible and grounded in real practice — helping professionals feel better equipped to create emotionally containing, developmentally informed and trauma-aware environments where children and young people can flourish.
Areas of focus
Training and consultancy can support professionals and teams in developing a deeper understanding of:
trauma-informed practice
attachment and developmental needs
emotional regulation and dysregulation
behaviour as communication
emotionally containing environments
relational approaches in education
supporting children and young people with complex needs
reflective practice for staff teams
This work can be tailored to the needs of a particular school, service or team.
Consultancy support
I offer consultancy for individuals or small groups of professionals working with children and adolescents in educational and care settings.
Consultancy sessions provide space to think together about the emotional and behavioural needs of children and young people, the challenges practitioners may be facing, and ways of responding that are both thoughtful and developmentally attuned.
These sessions can be particularly helpful for teams wanting support around specific children, patterns within a setting, or wider relational and emotional dynamics in their work.

Staff training and development
I also offer staff training sessions and development days for schools and services wanting to deepen their understanding of trauma-informed and emotionally containing practice.
Training is designed not only to offer theory, but also to support reflection, discussion and practical application. The aim is to help staff feel more confident, more emotionally resourced and better able to respond to the needs of the children and young people they support.
Half day — £450
Full day — £1000 + VAT
Experience and background
My training work is informed by over 20 years’ experience working therapeutically with adults, adolescents, children and families.
Alongside private practice, I have taught counselling students on a degree programme for four years and worked as Principal Trainer for Thrive Approach, developing and delivering training across the UK to hundreds of staff working in schools and services supporting children and families.
My work is grounded in trauma, attachment, relational practice and contemporary understanding of emotional development, always with a focus on how this can be translated meaningfully into everyday professional settings.
A relational and reflective approach
I bring the same values to training as I do to therapy: thoughtfulness, emotional depth, respect and a belief in people’s capacity to grow in the right conditions.
Good training does more than deliver information. It creates space for reflection, understanding and practical change. My aim is to offer learning experiences that feel grounded, relevant and genuinely useful to the people in the room.
